JIRA Configuration Tool and HTTPS

Michael Hartkopf September 11, 2012

We recognised when using the JIRA configuration tool that the HTTPS options are not displayed on tab Web Server. Only the entries "HTTP Port" and "Control Port" are shown.

We changed the server.xml manually and added configuration for SSL port - JIRA configuration still just show the 2.

When we configured server.xml to have connector for port 443 only, JIRA Configuration Tool is not working anymore.

Any idea?

Hi Michael,

The current "Web Server" tab doesn't have any HTTPS configuration. The HTTPS options will be available on JIRA 5.2, which will be released soon. For now the only way to configure HTTPS is straight in the server.xml file (as you did) or in your Apache/IIS webserver.

Best regards,
Lucas Timm

Aaah, the search result in JIRA documentation was misleading - first result is always related to latest JIRA (seems to be JIRA OnDemand and JIRA Early Access Program only). Missed that little but important notice at beginning of the page.

Looking to 5.1.x documentation (I thought that's the latest one) is showing well known description.

Thank's a lot.
