JIRA: Automatically create subtasks in transition?

Is there any way for a JIRA workflow to automatically create subtasks during a transition?

When an issue transitions from into Status X, autocreate subtasks A, B, & C?

sadly it doesn't. I'm really keen to be able to create sub-task estimate tickets for split teams. otherwise these are manually created each time which is not efficient.
