JIRA Agile - how to use other than done field in burn down chart

The resolution field needs to be set for the line to strike thought the issues (considered done) and the issue needs to be in the far right column.

 

if you are using the simplified work flow click the set resolution checkbox.

You can't.  "Done" is an Agile concept, not a field for a start, it's an indicator that something is completed.  The whole definition of a burndown chart is based on issues being "done", so if you changed it to something else, you don't have a burndown chart any more, you've got something telling you, well, nothing of any value.

Actually I've found that the burndown chart is triggered by dropping an issue into the rightmost column on the board.

It doesn't have to be named 'Done' and the status mapped to the column can be any state you want.

Yes, sorry, I should have pointed out that "done" really does mean "in the done column, on the far right", whatever it might actually be called
