JIRA Add-on Structure : Mandatory fields

Regis November 5, 2012

JIRA 5.0.2 : I'd like to create a new ticket, using the 'Next Issue' or 'Sub-Issue' stuff, from a selected item in a structure.

My problem is that I have some mandatory fields in the created ticket (let's call them A and B). Structure behaves partly well, as it returns an error (as mentioned in the documentation page 52); the problem is that, when clicking on the supplied link for fixing the issues (the name of the missing fields A & B are displayed in red), the only fields I am supplied with are Fields, Project, Issue Type, and none of the fields which should be entered...It seems impossible to fix anything

Have I missed something in the configuration?

or does it mean that you cannot use this feature when you have some mandatory fields?

You need to configure Structure grid and add the required fields as columns. See the docs here: https://wiki.almworks.com/x/Z4M3

Then, when entering a new issue you will also have a chance to set values to those fields. Just click on a cell or use keyboard shortcuts to navigate between the cells. Related documentation:

Hope this helps!
