I am looking at the "Upgrading JIRA Manually" instructions for 6.0 and it says to backup your existing database, create a new one, start JIRA and then import the backup. Previously, when performing manual upgrades, I've always upgraded the database "in-place". We are using MySQL.
Is it not possible to do an "in-place" database upgrade from 5.2 to 6.0?
Thanks!
It should be possible to do in-place database upgrade. I believe the idea to upgrade on another database schema is for you to have the option to quickly rollback by just shutting down JIRA 6.0 and startup JIRA 5.2 back online.
