JIRA 5.2.8 changing default language

Yochai Ben-Chaim July 9, 2013

Hy,

We are trying to change default language from English (US) to English (UK).

Although in General Configuration we can see the new language as default, the system itself looks like no change have been done.

English (UK) language pack installed on the system.

What seems to be the problem?

Thanks

Slava

We were able to resolve the issue by changing JiraWebActionsSupport.properties file

Hi Yochai,

You might also want to check the language set in the User Preferences, which can affect the language that is displayed in your instance. You can find out further about configuring the language in the User Preferences here

Hi Yochai,

Are you able to change the default languages to other languages such as Deutsch (other than English UK)? Maybe the plugin cache wasn't clear properly. Try to clear the cache manually by:

  1. Shut down JIRA
  2. Delete the following hidden plugin cache directories:
    • JIRA_HOME/plugins/.bundled-plugins
    • JIRA_HOME/plugins/.osgi-plugins
  3. Restart JIRA (These directories will be recreated on JIRA reboot with new plugin cache)

Hope this helps.
