Can you confirm if you have the JIRA Suite Utilities plugin installed? And, if so, can you ensure the version you have is compatible with JIRA 5.2.6?

There is a known similar issue that is caused due to an incompatible version of the plugin, and you can see the KB for this here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/x/rgrSEQ

Yes Support group advised the same, I did had a right version of JIRA Suite utilities plugin 1.3.5 which I uninstalled. Now even without the plugin I have the same issue

Do you have any proxy in front of JIRA? And have you tried to run IE without the extensions?

Raghuram February 18, 2013

Yes I did run IE in InPrivate, Without extensions, Adding JIRA to safe site list but nothing works. JIRA 5.1.6 used to work perfectly fine in IE8
