For my IT service, I have 2 projects one of which we run the service desk off then another for payment.
Is there any way that if a customer opens a request on the service desk it makes an issue in the payments. Also, bonus points if moving it on the payments can update on the service desk status.
You can certainly use Automation for creating an issue in a different project upon creation of issue. Have you attempted this as yet? Here is some documentation on Automation if you are as yet familiar - automation-for-jira .
trigger - issue created
condition - as needed to ensure the action only happens when desired
action - create issue
