Issue with stories created via email attachments containing PNG files

We are trying to create JIRA stories by text content and PNG images sent through email. The content seems to load correctly in stories but PNG image attachments are removed whereas JPEG images are accepted. Due to our product limitations, we definitely need JIRA to allow loading of PNG images though email attachments.

After searching around. I see this has been reported on Atlassian community site - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/create-issue-from-email-attachment-file-type-png-zip-other/qaq-p/402288

Could you please help?

Pankaj, Check the file size of the attachments.  Maybe they are too big for what your instance is allowing?

Thanks Peter. We have looked into that already but it's not even accepting a 17KB PNG whereas it picking up 1MB JPG.
