Issue with Export functionality in JIRA

Srilatha Pokala August 29, 2017

Issue with Export functionality in JIRA:

Export JIRA issues shows HTML code embedded in user name fields.

Example:  <a class="user-hover" rel="jeller" id="word_reporter_jeller" href="http://{Server_name}/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=jjohn">John, Joshua</a>

Instead of all this html code, i would like to see just "John, Joshua" as Reporter when exporting issues.

I can only reproduce this when using the Word export option in JIRA.   If using the HTML, CSV, or XML export, none of these other methods appear to operate in this behavior.

Is it possible to use the HTML export to avoid this instead?

This HTML export feature was rolled out in JIRA 7.4.0 - release notes:  so it might be helpful as a means to work around this if you're using a recent version of JIRA.

We are currently using JIRA 6.4.10 version, And our business team mostly will be using word export.

Is there any JIRA bug exists for the issue?

I could not find any existing bug/suggestions for this specific feature in JIRA, so I went ahead and created one for this use case.
