Issue types

Eriks Blaschka January 30, 2018

The initual setting of Jira has only one "issue type":   Story.

The help says you can add more type in the admin section.

But where?  ( I am still on the trial version.)

Thanks a lot

Nope, you should be able to edit existing schemes or add new ones and associate them to an existing project.

Scroll down the link I gave you and look for;

"Editing an issue type scheme" - change the current scheme for a project

"Choosing a project's issue type scheme" - updating your project to a new scheme

OK, you have new issue types, but now you need to add them to a project (otherwise, as you know, they'll not show on the dropdown).

To do that, you will need to update the issue type scheme your project is using. See here for some help;

Cheers!

Thank again

it looks as if these schemes cannot be associated with projects that existed before the change.

Is it possible to delete projects?

Thank you - I was in the wrong admin panel.

Hi Nic

I added the new items, but they do not show in the drop down list...
( but they do show in the "issue help link".

I restarted the browser, Yes they are in the admin window, but no drop down.

Do I need to set them visible somewhere?

Thanks
