Issue Type Scheme - is there a way to assign a different workflow to the Sub-Task Issue Type only for a project?

Our workflow has our Issues go through a CCB step - basically, work can't start on the Issue until CCB has approved it. Currently, that means when we create sub-tasks off a parent task, all of the sub-tasks must go through CCB approval as well. This is overkill. Subtasks are only a detailed breakdown of the parent Task, so work is already approved.

I can't find a way to have new Sub-Tasks auto-transition to the same state as the parent Task.

Is it possible to instead change the Issue Type Scheme associated with the Project so that Sub-Tasks only use a different workflow? We could then assign a workflow that didn't require CCB approval.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Christine,

If you wan to assign issue type to different workflow, you need to create the workflow scheme to associate with the issue type. Please read through on how to Configuring Workflow Schemes. Please give it a try and hope it helps.

Good Luck.
