Issue Auto-generation in project B when an issue status changed in Project A

Christopher Kolb June 27, 2017

Hello,

I'm trying to find if there is a method or jira extension/addon which will allow an issue to be automatically generated in a project, triggered by the status change of an issue in another project.

------

ie.

Project A: Issue 1, Status: Escalated-> Approved

Create

Project B: Issue 1b

------

 The current strategy is to create a new issue in the second project and link the issues manually.

There are add-ons which provide functions that do "create another issue" as post-functions.

I'd use the script-runner, as I've almost always got it to hand, but there are others in the marketplace that do it.

Thanks Nic, I'll look into it

We have used the "Create on Transition" add-on in a number of workflows with great success.  Nic is also right - "Script Runner" for JIRA can do the job well also.
