Is there a way to truncate the description of long emails?

We receive some emails with content that exceeds the character limit set for the description field.  Is there a way to have the system automatically truncate those emails instead of automatically discarding the email and not generating a ticket?  

We have Email This Issue and see the following error in the logs: 

Value for 'Description' is longer than 32,767 characters

Hi Angie, I'm not aware of a truncation setting. However, probably don't want to lose any vital information. You can actually increase the limit or set it to unlimited.

Thank you for the response.  I'm hoping someone has experience with doing this.  We are also looking at extending the character limit, but are concerned about the potential impact to the server/database.

You welcome. That would depend on your storage size. usually, the items really that take up the most space is the attachments and not the ticket itself.
