Is there a way to make a timeline use more available space on the screen?

I have a project that plans quarterly and we deliberately size work in sprint level chunks. We try to limit chunks to no more than 3 sprints.
We built a 1 quarter timeline view but the timeline width is fixed to enable a view of 3 quarters at a time so everything is squeezed in the limited space to the left with 2 times the space empty of the left.
Is there a way to resize the timeline so it uses all the available space on the screen?
The fixed width months and quarters are helpful for longer term planning but it limits the granular view capability for short term planning.
