Create them as sub-tasks of the story. Define a new sub-task issue type called 'Sprint Bug' and use it for reporting all bugs found during Sprint.

All bugs found outside of sprint, report them as regular Bugs so that it can be planned by the PO.

Thanks, this was a great suggestion!

Thanks Renjith, Perfect solution for insprint bugs. I was thinking about what happened to out of sprint bugs? Because even if you add them to a sprint they still won't be visible from the scrum board? (Actually I just realised Issues raised as bugs are visible on scrum board.)

Out of sprint bugs, they are like any normal item in the backlog. It will be visible in the planning board and if the PO thinks they have to be planned ahead of other stories backlog items, they are planned into a sprint the same way any story is planned.

If the team is okay to pick up adhoc 'out of sprint' bugs while a sprint is in progress (which is is highly discouraged without finishing the already committed stories), the PO can simple drag those bugs into the ongoing Sprint.

Renjith - some years later but this scrum-bug subtask issue type works brilliantly. Thank you!

Hi Audrey,

I think you'll find a way to do what you're looking for by checking out linking issues https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Linking+Issues

The difference between linked issues and subtasks for example is that the subtasks append to the bottom of the parent issue while linked issues will have a seperate section on the page.

Cheers
