Is there a way to have different permission scheme for sub-tasks than issue types?

In JIRA On Demand, is there a way to disable the access of certain groups of users to the sub-tasks of a project, whilst they are still able to access the parent task?

Thanks,
Parmiss

No.

You can try to do things with issue level security, but it's nothing to do with issue type, and I don't think OnDemand will let you set it automatically (I've always had to install plugins to set security levels, and OnDemand has a limited list available). See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Issue-level+Security
