Is there a way to find out how a ticket was created?

I want to find out if a ticket was created via email or the create button through my JIRA instance or possibly my service desk portal. I don't know if there is a way to find out that specific information.

You could search on "Reporter" if you are using a Dummy Account to create issues from emails.
