Is there a way to chart the open bug count per day for the past month and also classify each days bug count by severity?

Here is an example of the advanced search we are using

project = "x" AND issuetype = Bug AND status = Open AND created >= -30d AND created <= 30d

I don't see a gadget that can really graph that per day.

You can use the 'Recently Created Chart' gadget and create a filter with the criteria you want other than the created range. Then set the Days Previously interval for 30.

More to the point, we would like to graph open bugs per day over a 30 day period.
