Is there a way to associate a story or task with a dollar value, separate from the hours worked?

I have to manage an effort where we are charging a dollar amount for each story as a billable add-on to our product. That cost is independent from the hours worked. Is there a way for me to get a report on the billable dollar potential of a given release - i.e., with these stories in the release, the dollar amount of the release is $15,000?

Is there a known add-on that can do this? Or a native ability I was not aware of?

Hi Jonathan,

One option is to add a number custom field:

Then you can use an add-on like sumUp for JIRA to sum it. 

With that you can make a dashboard like this:

Sadly it's not free though.

Someone may come in with a better suggestion, but hope this helps a bit.

Agree with Sam - add a custom field.

If you want free, you can then generate a report from the issue option and export as HTML to excel. It's a bit more work, but if you don't want to pay for an add-on...
