Is there a reason why the Velocity Chart isn't taking the story points from Epics into account?

When I look at the Velocity Chart it only takes the Story Points of the Stories into account and not the one of the Epics. Is there a reason for this?

Even if I have closed the Epic.

Bug in the first image perhaps? Techincally, do you put Story Points into Epics?

Thanks, you are right. I was using the Epics as a container for task. So, we would estimate how much story point the container would have. Then I would subdivide it over subtaks. However, I could also use a Story as my Story Point bucket.

So, there might be no need for Story points in Epics.
