Is there a method to grant edit permission to an issue when added with a custom user picker field?

Attempting to create a collaborator user picker (multiple user) field for jira service desk project, and now trying to grant them edit issue permission  if added.

By adding the field to the service desk's permission scheme for browse projects, edit/transition/resolve/etc permissions, a collaborator able to view the issue they are added while no other, and able to add a comment.

Unfortunately, they are not able to edit just that issue. Able to create sub-tasks and clone if given create issue perm, attachements, and some work logging. Everything is not possible.

Hoping at least be able to edit description, and link issues. Would be nice if they could create link issue from the request when added with the user picker. As is, the Agent is entiraly responsible for creating new issues in other projects for the collaborator to help reserve the issue.

Unless I am missing a workaround or setting to allow an user selected in a user picker to an issue being granted create/edit/link permissions to a request in a service desk?

Thank you!

Just noticed that it is essentially all of the functionality of a Request participants, but able to be viewed/commented as jira software user.

Still though, at least able to Create linked issue, so to clone slash linked easily?
