Is there a limit to the number of labels you can use?

I am considering to use a labels custom field, but I am unsure if I should do this. I might end up having 100000 labels. Can JIRA handle this?

There is no physical limit to number of labels. However 100000 labels is huge and will eventually have an impact on performance I guess. Doing some perf tests might help!

Thanks, maybe 100000 is a bit exagerated :-) That number is rather theoretical, it will be more like 1000-2000. Any experience with that many labels?

Looks reasonable. That should work fine. I haven't counted the labels but I am sure the Atlassian JIRA has much more than that.
