Is there a limit to how many custom fields you can have in an issue?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Adding a custom field

Is there a limit to how many custom fields you can have in an issue?  I am working with the Cloud version of JIRA.

Your users will struggle with fielditis well before the service will.

I'd address this directly with your provider. I've had over 50 on the server version. How many are you looking for?
