Is it possible to prevent that a user links a story to a closed epic?

Currently I have the problem that I have a closed epic and users link there new stories to this old epic. Normally it is an mistake but it is a pity because in many boards I set my filter only to the open epics.

Is it possible to "deactivate" old, closed epics so that they disappear from the choice filed for an epic link?
