Hello @Jessie Alder

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

In Jira terminology a "board" is a method to visualize and work with issues. The issues are contained in a Project, not "in" the board.

Given that information are you really trying to move a board or are you wanting to move a project?

You can go to https://admin.atlassian.com, go to Settings / Data Management and there you will find the option to Copy product data. That is the native method for copying data from one Jira Cloud instance to another.

You can find full documentation here:

https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/copy-product-data/

Be aware that any migration of Jira data from one Jira instance to another can result in some data not being copied. Make sure that you review all the documentation associated with the process before starting it to ensure you are fully aware of what will and will not copy.

Hi @Jessie Alder ,

You cannot migrate a board between free-tier accounts, because boards are tied to the projects and data in a specific Jira site.

However, you can replicate the board in another account by following these steps:

  • Go to the Board in Project > Navigate to Filters > Click JQL > Search for issues using its Project Key > Click on the Export button and choose Export CSV (All fields) > Save the exported CSV file.
  • In the target account, create a project similar to the original one
  • Go to Settings > System > External System Import > CSV > Follow the steps to map fields from the CSV file to fields in the new Jira project.
  • Once the data is imported, manually recreate the board in the new account:
    1. Go to the project in the target account.
    2. Click Create board.
    3. Choose the board type (Scrum or Kanban) and link it to the project.
