Need to edit the description of status ‘Closed’. By default, it says closed issues ‘can be reopened’. Would like to make it ‘Can’t be Reopened’.

I tried editing the description, but this is not reflecting on JIRA issues. Even re-indexing couldn’t fix it. Any guess ?

Can you try editing the file JiraWebActionSupport.properites located under <JIRA_INSTALL>/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/com/atlassian/jira/web/action directory.

Locate the below section in the above mentioned file -

## default translations for statuses
jira.translation.status.closed.desc=The issue is considered finished, the resolution is correct. Issues which are closed can be reopened.

And try updating the text to the desired one. Also you can refer this link.

Hope this helps you!
