Is it possible to customize the subject line for a particular project in JIRA?

when the users make changes to the issues in jira, automatic mails are sent .

I would like to customize the mail subject based on the action done by  the user.

We have a feature request here to add the functionality to customize mail notifications on JIRA. While it is not implemented, we have this page describing how to customize your notifications.
