Is it ok to upgrade jira from 6.0.8 to 6.3 ?

Deleted user July 9, 2014

We havnt not upgraded JIRA from last 10 months, and planning to upgrade now.

Is it OK to upgrade directly to latest version of JIRA ? or it will cause some issues ?

Want to know if this would be trouble free before we begin the upgrade.

Appreciate any help in this regards.

Ronak,

There is no problems to upgrade, but we highly recommend that you check the release notes and the plugins compability versions on marketplace before you upgrade. In addition, most of Atlassian licenses allows you to have two instances (test and production) so you can create a copy of your production instance and then upgrade on that isntance before upgrading production directly. Doing that will minimize the chances of having a production outage in case something goes wrong with the upgrade and learn what could be the upcoming challengings for the production upgrade.

You can find the release notes below:

In case something goes wrong, don't hesitate to fill a support ticket so we can better assist you!

That should be fine, but read the release notes for 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 carefully. And, of course, test it.
