Is it a good idea to create a Jira ticket through an integration from another application?

An application our company uses integrates with Jira.  It is able to link Jira and Confluence objects within that application.  Is it a good idea to stand up the ability to create Jira tickets from the application GUI?  I am worried about controlling the quality of the ticket content, as well as the assignee.  Is there anything else I should monitor if we decide to do this?

Hi @Lucy Buecking ,

we create Jira issues using the REST api from our applications and have no problems with that functionality.

How do you control the quality today? How do you set the assignee today? You can control this e.g. with the workflow of your project, or with mandatory fields.
