Invalid searcher chosen. Error when trying to create custom field. How to fix it?

Hi,

I have the following issue with Jira OnDemand. When I try to create a custom field, I get an "Invalid searcher chosen" error. I can not continue further and I can not create a new field.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Admin -> Custom Fields -> Add Custom Field
2. Choose "Message Custom Field (for edit)" (this is part of a plugin) and click Next
3. Fill a field name and click Finish
4. You will see an error "Invalid searcher chosen". See attached

Expected Behavior: Get redirected to the next screen (Associate field Database to screens) as shown here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/x/8QESCw

Can anyone help me to fix it please?
