Install JIRA 4 on Linux

Rumceisz June 25, 2014

Hi All,

we try to install a JIRA 4.3 to Linux server. We tried to extract the tar.gz file by 'tar -zxvf atlassian-jira-4.3.3-PLP.tar.gz ' - we run the command and it seemed the file to be extracted but then we didn't find the extracted folder.

Could you please help? Is there anything else need to be set?

Thanks,
Rumi

What was the output from the tar command?

You've got it right, and ther's nothing more to do, but the output should tell you of any errors. Also check the directory content carefully - you should find a new directory has been created in the same place as the tar.gz file is

Hi Nic,

actually there was no error message. In the other hand there was also another atlassian-jira-standalone-4.3 folder in the same directory. That is a defunct JIRA. I renamed the tar.gz file before extract to atlassian-jira-standalone-4.3-SOMETHING.tar.gz so I guessed that the extracted folder will have the same name...

Thanks again for your help!
