Hi @Michal Peleg

Welcome to our community.

You'er looking for a solution of below issue type hierarchy, right?

  1. Initiative
  2. Epics
  3. Story/Task
  4. Sub-task

If so, below is the steps to fulfill it:

  1. Configure issue type hierarchy just beside the issue type scheme;
  2. Add the field "Parent" to Epics issue type screen scheme so that you could choose which Initiative epics belong to.

Hope it helps.

Hello @Michal Peleg

I work for Exalate.

You can link epics from both "A" and "B" projects to an initiative in Jira by using issue links or a custom hierarchy if needed. To connect an existing epic to an initiative, you might need to use the "Parent Link" field, which should be available if you’re using Advanced Roadmaps (previously Portfolio for Jira). If the field is missing, ensure that your configuration supports this hierarchy.

Alternatively, for complex cross-project linking, Exalate can help synchronize and link issues across multiple projects while maintaining their relationships.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Hi @Michal Peleg

Assuming that you have set up a custom hierarchy with an initiative being the next level up from an epic then yes, you can link epics from any project to that initiative.

If you don't have the parent field on your epics you will have to ask your Jira admin to add that field to the epic in the configuration settings for your epics.
