Include Page Macro doesn't display content to an external customer

Edwin Chong May 30, 2017

We provide access to Service Desk and Confluence for external customers and use the Include Page Macro to link an article from an internal Confluence space.

In the Service Desk/Knowledge Base/Access setting, its set to "Everyone ..can read articles".

In the Confluence space/Space Tools/Permissions, its set to "Any active user can view this space".

But the internal Confluence space (where the article is published) is only accesible to internal users.

How do I allow external customers to access this article?

Thanks for any suggestion you have.

Hi Edwin,

out of the box, this is not possible. The MultiExcerpt plugin has an option to override the permissions. Look here:

But be careful with this, you open to doors to bypass Confluence permissions with that. We use this plugin, but did not enable this function because of the possible security vulnerabilities.

Thank you Thomas! I'll look into this.
