In the ServiceDesk (Cloud), can you resolve a ticket without sending notification?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Defining a screen

We want to close some tickets in our ServiceDesk (Cloud ) with Internal Comment & we do not want to send notification to the reporter. How can this be done?

One way is to temporarily disable JIRA outgoing mails:

  1. Go to JIRA Administration > System > Outgoing mails
  2. Disable outgoing mail

Another possible solution is to use the bulk transition feature. At the final step there's a checkbox to avoid sending mail updates:
