In Jira 4.4.3, why change component field will set a readonly type customfield as empty or null?

Hi all,

Is there anybody encounter the similar case?

In jira 4.4.3, to change componet will set a readonly type customfield as empty or null?

Other operation on issue are fine. Just change componet will affect the customfield.

Is it a Jira bug?

Please advise.

I'm pretty sure this is not a Jira Bug but a side effect from either a Jira listener or a Workflow post function.

Do you change the component using the Edit operation? If yes there might be a listener installed that changes this custom field.

if you change the component in a transition there might be a post function in that transition that clears the field.

I change the component using Edit operation.

I will check whether the listener affect the customfield.
