I have 2 instances of JIRA (both are 5.1.7) and I have several projects that I need to move from one instance to the other instance. Both of these instances are on-premise (not OnDemand).

My question is after I import the xml backup into the target JIRA how do I go about attachments?

There is a previous discussion on this forum that never answers this question.

by default attachments are stored in your jirahome/data/attachments folder - in this folder you will find folders for each project keyed by project key - simply copy (or move) the folders you want to your other instances attachments folder.
