Importing projects from old Jira Version (4.3) to new Version (6.1.7)?

We like to migrate one project after another to our new Jira instace, but in the Jira Dokumentation it is clearly pointed out that the importfile needs to have originated from exactly the same Jira-Version. Now I wonder: Is there another way to migrate this project from our old Jira instance to the new instance with version 6.1.7 ?

Any advise from people that have been facing the same problem is aprreciated! :-)

Hi Miriam Heinrich,

You can achieve this by following step

1. Install Test jira 4.3

2. Take project backup of you old 4.3 jira

3. Restore it to test Jira

4. Upgrade the Test jira to 5.0 & then to 6.1.7

6. Now take the project backup & apply it to new Jira 6.1.7

I know this little bit complicated but it will work fine.
