Importing from Teamwork PM

Jeremy Knowles November 12, 2013

Is it possible to import data from Teamwork PM (teamworkpm.net) into Jira? We've been using it a while and think we'd like to try Jira as it looks better for our needs, but we don't want to manually transfer everything.

It doesn't have a CSV export facility, only backup to a mysql file.

Unfortunately a SQL dump is not comparable to a CSV import. There isn't much we can do.

Depending on your comfort level, you could look into taking the SQL export and converting that into a CSV file.

Searching around there are several articles on that. For example:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12040816/mysqldump-in-csv-format

If you get this working, you could then import by going to JIRA Admin > System > External System Import or https://<example.atlassian.net>/secure/admin/ExternalImport1.jspa

Good luck!

I am looking at moving existing Teamwork data to Jira.  With regards to converting the SQL dump to CSV, I found this https://www.rebasedata.com/convert-mysql-to-csv-online.  Disclaimer:  I've not yet used the tool however, it does look promising.  If you try it out before I do, I'd appreciate some feedback on how it worked for you.  Good luck!
