Imported XML Workflow not active

We imported a workflow via xml but its is under inactive. How do we get to select the new workflow? We exported & imported from our main server to test server. We cannot select the workflow because its inactive.

Workflows need to be activated to use them in JIRA. Activating a workflow is the process of mapping the workflow to a workflow scheme, and then associating the workflow scheme with a project.

We cannot map to scheme it is not in the pulldown

It's as the docs say - you create a new workflow scheme, and either change the "default workflow" or add an issue type to it.

It doesn't matter that it says "inactive", all that means is that you have not yet associated it with anything.

Associate the workflow with a workflow scheme and associate the workflow scheme with a project. Both workflow and its corr workflow scheme will become active then
