Import-export function is missing in admin console

Hi All,

we need to migrate an old Jira instance to a new one. We just got a jira-administrator user acount for the old instance but we surprisingly watxh that the whole Import &Export menu is missing on the administration console. The version is v4.2.2.

We checked that we are in the jira-administrators group.

How can it be that this menu and functions are missing?? We need to make a backup.

As Zulfadli hints, that group might not have been granted the "administrate system" global permission. By default, it is, but I've been to places where the group is not used for that, or is removed completely.

Anyway, if it's not that, then the next place to look is in the plugins under Admin to check if functionality has been disabled, and then maybe "system info" to see if other things in the distribution have been amended and may be preventing the import/export from loading/showing.

Please check the Global Permissions to see if you are part of JIRA System Adminsitrator or not. As stated in this documentation, you would require the JIRA System Administrator to be able to see it.
