Import Users from LDAP

Prakhar Srivastav February 3, 2014

Hi All,

I am upgrading my JIRA version 4.1.2 to 6.1.6. I have connected to an internal directory with Ldap authentication and it's working. As I need to migrate previous JIRA users into my upgraded version ,please suggest a detailed approach to bulk import the Ldap users into internal directory.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Prakhar

There is no need for user migration if you are upgrading JIRA to the latest version, all you need to do is copy over the osuser.xml file from your previous JIRA installation directory to the new one, for more details and further information, please refer to the following documentation (Step: 3.4 Migrate your existing JIRA configurations over to your new JIRA installation):

Hi Daryl,

Thanks for your answer.

Can you please explain how osuser.xml works in the ypgrade process?

I have copied this file while upgrading but after upgrade I didn't find previous user in my application.
