Is there any way that I can import a task list on a Confluence page to my JIRA task. The idea is to define certain commonly used checklists on Confluence pages and import them directly into JIRA tasks/stories. Is this possible and if so how?

Don't know if it can be done otherwise but you will not be able to do it with the Checklist add-on as it doesn't support this use case.
