If I close an item in the Backlog why does it not reflect as Done in the Cumulative Flow Diagram?

Jason Giroux May 2, 2017

One of our teams has a "No Plans to Address" status which is mapped to resolved Resolution type of "Won't Do".  That status is also mapped to our board's Done column.

Recently that team's Product Owner has been trying to do some backlog maintenance by clearing out a lot of items that we just won't be getting around to doing.  However, what he's seeing is that those items do not show up in the project's Cumulative Flow Diagram as belonging to the Done column, even though that's where the status is mapped for the board.

This shows to a growing gulf betwen To Do items and Done items which isn't what we want.  We'd like to be able to use this report as a way to monitor the health of our teams' backlogs.

Any tips on debugging or ideas on why this may be happening?

Hello, from the documentation :
https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/jira-agile-user-s-guide/using-a-board/using-reports/viewing-the-cumulative-flow-diagram

The CFD is based upon your column mapping. For example, an issue is considered complete, when it is in a status that is mapped to the rightmost ('successful') column on the column configuration for your board.

Right, but in this case my status *is* mapped to the rightmost column in the board's config.  Yet when tickets are set to that status it's not updated on the CFD at all, they are still showing as To Do.
