I want to prompt our QA manager to add a fix version when she transitions a ticket from QA to Sign off on our scrum board, it seems to be possible using a post function for other fields, but not for fix version
Hopefully you've figured this out at this point, however, if not please take a look at Nic's answer in the Communities post How to setup fix versions as mandatory only on resolve screen?
If you make a field mandatory in Jira, it is mandatory for the whole lifecycle of the issue.
To do what you want here, you make it optional, and add a "validator" to the resolve transition, which will stop the user completing the transition unles the issue has a fix version.
