I want to auto-populate summary field with prefix like ''BUG" on transition

I am using JIRA v6.3.15 and I want to auto-populate Summary field on transition with a short sentence like "This is a BUG". This should only happen when creating a Bug issue type. Please assit

Hi Luvo,

In order to do this you will need to use one of the plugins that allow you to set a field as a postfunction on a workflow. There are several that will allow you to achieve this so it is worth checking if you have any already installed. For example...

JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions

JIRA Workflow Toolbox

ScriptRunner for JIRA.
