How to tell if a Jira board is actually used

Brian Pryor February 22, 2019

Anyone know how to tell if a Jira board is used?

Some of the projects in our company have many, many boards.   The project admin's are a little scared of deleting the boards not knowing if they are used and their projects have enough sub-teams where having a discussion would work but not perfectly.

Is there a way to see who's accessing a specific board or when a specific board was last accessed?

Hi Brian,

If you have a reverse proxy (Apache/nginx etc) with logging on in front of Jira, then you can do some command line magic (grep/cut/sort/uniq) to see how often each board is being used and then clean up from there.

Hi Craig,

I was hoping there was a magic screen I was missing - rats...   But your suggestion is great and should totally work for us.  Thanks!
