How to structure my project in Jira?

Jose David Gomez Rebolledo May 16, 2017

Hi.

I want to set a structure on Jira for my project. It would be set like this:

Epic > Feature > Story/Bug/Task > Sub-Task

I've been trying but I can not configure it. I need help with this.

Good bye.

There is no "feature" level implemented in JIRA Software.

There's an add-on which sort of enables it, as long as you're careful with the config of it - the "Structure" add-on is well worth a look.

Wouldn't Initiatives solve this in Portfolio?

Initiative > Epic > Story/Task > Sub-task

Portfolio provides unlimited heirarchies above Epic, so yes Initiative can be implemented that way.

If you are in an organization that is using the Scaled Agile Framework then Initiatives can have cross-project implications and are often implemented in Atlassian as a project of their own.  If that is your situation I recommend downloading Atlassian's white paper on SAFe.
