We have a single user picker custom field Resolved By

I want to automatically fill the value of this custom field to the current user during the transition to Resolved.

How is this possible?

Yes. Use the "Update Custom field" post function from JIRA Suite Utilities and set the value to %%CURRENT_USER%%
