How to set default value of new custom field for previous issues?

I created a custom field from "Select List" type. Then, I added some values to it and assigned it default value.

How can I update old issues? Old issues have "None". I want to give them default value of new custom field.

You can use Bulk Operations to update field values for multiple JIRA issues.
